Most of the major smartphone manufacturers have unveiled their flagship models for 2013 already but there is one major name missing from the list. Apple produce the popular iPhone range of devices and over the summer we expect to greet the arrival of the new iPhone 5S. We have heard numerous reports about the specification that this model will boast but over the last few days we have seen images that give us an idea about the design that this eagerly awaited new model will boast.
Leading mobile internet site GSMArena have recently published two images of a new Apple phone that is reported to be the forthcoming iPhone 5S. The handset in the images is only a prototype so it may not be the final design that we see hit the shelves later this year but it certainly gives us an idea about how Apple intent the handset to look. There is a possibility however that Apple are looking further down the road and that the picture in question could be early designs for next years iPhone 6. Looking over these new images the first thing that grabs our attention is the lack of a physical Home button on the fascia of the device. Another really interesting aspect of the snaps is that the display panel on the phone is curved and this ties in nicely with a recent patent application registered by Apple.
Only time will tell as to whether these latest image are indeed genuine and the real iPhone 5S. The image quality is not the greatest and there is also the possibility that the snaps could have been edited or digitally rendered. The phone pictured in the images is indeed a prototype and it could also be one of a number of similar devices produced prior to a release before a final design is chosen. What the images do give us is an interesting insight into Apple’s plans for the future and if we do not see this new design feature on the iPhone 5S then there is every possibility that next year’s iPhone 6 will feature elements of this exciting new design.
We are expecting to see the new iPhone 5S arrive over the summer months and smartphone fans will be hoping that the design of the phone is similar to the striking new handset we saw in the images that have just been published.
